Priority#1: The media player must be locatable and accessible for onsite staff.
To the right are images from the upgrade completed today at a Las Vegas indoor soccer facility.
The was a retrofit of an old screen, fastened to cement brick. Notice that the media player is purposely separate from the screen, which makes servicing much easier. The general rule is to install the media player behind the screen for ease of locating and servicing in the future. This is an exception to that rule, as servicing at this height would be challenging.
On the same day, over a thousand miles away, this screen was installed in the waiting area of an automotive repair shop.
Cable covering was used, so even though network cabling and extension cords had to be run from the ceiling, no cables show.
Also, notice how the media player is installed. The power button is easy to reach, ensuring the customer can reasonably access and troubleshoot the hardware when required in the future.
Both installers did a great job. The actions they took are different, however considering the location specific challenges that needed to be overcome, both were correct.
